You park the car on Bahnhofstrasse in 53533 Müsch, there is plenty of space available.
We now follow the driving and hiking path, on the right side of the Trierbach stream upstream and reach the federal road B258 at the height of the very impressive Kirmutscheider church. (A small detour there is definitely worth it.)
Our path turns sharply to the right and we take the first ascent, which leads us into the Hoffeld fields. After crossing the lightly trafficked state road L10, we now turn downhill - an old hollow way leads down into the valley of the Nohner Bach, which we follow against the river’s direction.
Through a side valley, we now gradually climb into the wide open fields west of the village of Hoffeld, where we enjoy wonderful views over the Eifel landscape.
The path leads further to the old basalt quarries on the Hoffelder Kopf. Nature has largely reclaimed control over the landscape here, which provides us with magnificent scenes.
At first through old deciduous forests, later again through open fields, we hike to the slopes on the south side of the Ahr valley - through charming forest passages we finally reach our starting point again.

Author’s recommendation
If we undertake the route on a Sunday, we can stop by the "Feye Haus" in Hoffeld, where from 2:30 pm a small but excellent gastronomy awaits us.
Otherwise, of course, you need to carry packed food for the approximately 3.5 - 4 hour route.
