Weidenthal also has a lot to offer culturally: The local history museum gives an insight into the history of the region and displays traditional handicrafts as well as historical artefacts from times gone by. If you prefer something more modern, you can visit one of the many art events or meet local artists at the weekly market.
For culinary connoisseurs, Weidenthal has a few surprises in store: try the famous "Saumagen" (a hearty speciality made from pork) or enjoy fresh bread straight from the farm.
If it rains, you can always take a leisurely stroll through the village or visit one of the many cafés. For children, there is also an indoor playground with slides and trampolines.
One of our favourite places in Weidenthal is undoubtedly the "Schänzel" lookout point. From here you have a breathtaking view of the landscape and can enjoy the sunset over the Palatinate Forest.
Overall, Weidenthal is definitely worth a trip - whether for a weekend or a longer stay. As a travel guide, we recommend that you plan at least two days to experience everything this charming community has to offer.
