Geographically, Treis-Karden lies between the picturesque hills of the Eifel Mountains and the Moselle River. The region is known for its impressive vineyards, historic castles and palaces, and breathtaking scenery.

Tourist attractions include the Maria Engelport Monastery, a 12th-century Romanesque basilica with an impressive façade; Eltz Castle, a medieval fortress on a hilltop above the river; and the Martberg Archaeology Centre, which provides insights into the Roman history of the region.

Cultural highlights include the "Alte Mühle" town museum, which provides information about the history of Treis-Karden; as well as regular concerts and theatre performances in the "Mosellum" cultural centre.

For culinary specialities, a visit to a traditional wine tavern or a cosy restaurant along the Moselle promenade is recommended. Here you can enjoy regional specialities such as Riesling wines or hearty dishes.

The main outdoor activities take place mainly during the warm seasons: Hiking through the surrounding forests and vineyards, cycling along the Moselle riverside path or canoeing on the river. In winter, there is the opportunity to go skiing in the nearby winter sports areas.

Even when the weather is bad, there is plenty to discover in Treis-Karden: Visit the indoor swimming pool "Moseltherme" or take a guided tour through the underground passages of the Karden tunnel system, which used to serve as a shelter.

Where is it most beautiful? The picturesque Moselle promenade with a view of the river and the surrounding vineyards is considered one of the most beautiful places in Treis-Karden. Here you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Treis-Karden is definitely worth a visit, whether for a day or longer. Discover this charming region of Germany and be enchanted by its history and landscape!
