The Boxwood Hiking Trail connects the two Moselle communities Treis-Karden and Müden. We describe a circular hike that runs in the last section over the Boxwood Hiking Trail (4.1 km). The beautiful circular hike, which runs between forest and vineyards, offers something for every taste. Across wide highlands (sun protection!), through beech forests and through vineyards, it leads from Karden via Burg Eltz, Österhof, Müdenerberg, past Müden back to Karden. The path with some opportunities to stop offers wide forest roads and narrow rock paths, partly secured with steel cables. The Boxwood Hiking Trail and therefore also our path owes its name to the wild boxwood that grows here naturally, whose natural distribution area is mainly in southern Europe. Here in the Moselle steep slopes, it has, due to the climate, its northernmost occurrence with an area of about 300 hectares.
