Discover the region

Steinmauern is picturesquely situated at the foot of the Black Forest and surrounded by vineyards. The area is known for its romantic half-timbered houses from the 18th century as well as for the historic stone walls along the streets and paths - hence the name of the village.

The most important sight of Steinmauern is undoubtedly Eberstein Castle. The castle was built in the 12th century and today provides an impressive backdrop for events such as weddings or concerts.

Culture enthusiasts should definitely visit the Pfinzgaumühle Museum, which deals with the history of paper production - an important industry in this region since the Middle Ages.

For gourmets, the regional specialities are a must: try the Baden asparagus or enjoy a glass of local wine directly from the winery!

Outdoor enthusiasts can get active on numerous hiking and cycling trails around Steinmauern - tours through the nearby Black Forest or along the river Murg are particularly recommended. In summer, there are also excursions to the nearby bathing lake.

Even when the weather is bad, there is plenty to do in Steinmauern: Visit the indoor swimming pool or relax in the wellness area of Hotel Schloss Eberstein.

In conclusion, Steinmauern is definitely worth a trip. The picturesque location at the foot of the Black Forest and the charming atmosphere make this place a special highlight for every visitor!

Campingplatz in Munchhausen. Essen in "A la Rose" in Munchhausen.
