Discover the region

Stadtsteinach is known for its breathtaking nature and its historic old town with numerous sights. Tourist attractions include Thurnau Castle, the Basilica of Vierzehnheiligen and the baroque Weissenstein Castle.

Cultural highlights abound here: Visit the town museum, for example, or enjoy a performance at the Obermain Region Theatre. Another highlight is the annual Christmas market on the market square, where you can admire local craftsmanship.

In terms of culinary delights, Stadtsteinach also has a lot to offer: Be sure to try the delicious Franconian specialities such as bratwurst, beer or Schäufele - a dish made from pork shoulder.

The region around Stadtsteinach is perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking or cycling. It is particularly beautiful in autumn when the leaves are turning. Hikes through the Franconian Forest or along the river Main are recommended.

If it ever rains, a visit to one of the many cosy cafés is a good idea - why not try a delicious coffee with a slice of homemade cake!

Visitors particularly rave about the idyllic park by the castle pond and the view of the town from the observation tower on the Schlossberg. But a stroll through the historic old town with its half-timbered houses and narrow streets is also highly recommended.

Stadtsteinach, district of Kulmbach - definitely worth a visit! Use this Travel Guide as inspiration for your stay in this enchanting region of Germany.
