There are many tourist attractions here: Visit Simmern Castle or take a walk through the old town with its half-timbered houses. For culture enthusiasts, a visit to the town's museum is a must - here you can learn all about the history and traditions of this region.

But culinary delights are not neglected either: be sure to try the famous Hunsrücker Döppekooche (potato cake) or enjoy fresh bread from one of the traditional bakeries. Another highlight are the numerous wine festivals where you can taste local specialities.

For outdoor fans, the Hunsrück offers plenty of opportunities for active recreation: hiking on the Saar-Hunsrück Climb or cycling along the Moselle Valley are just a few examples of activities in this beautiful area. In winter, skiing enthusiasts can put their skills to the test on the slopes around the Erbeskopf.

Even if it rains, you don't have to stay idle: Why not take a tour of one of the many stalactite caves in the area or visit the Simmern leisure pool to relax and cool off.

Where is it most beautiful? Difficult to say - every season has its charm. In spring, nature comes to life, in summer you can relax outside in the sun, in autumn the forests glow in bright colours and in winter the landscape turns into a fairytale snowy landscape.

Overall, Simmern/Hunsrück offers a wide range of activities and sights for everyone. This travel guide will help you get the most out of your stay here - we hope you enjoy it!

Also Wegzehrung mitnehmen. Wer draussen schlafen will findet hier immer gute Spots.

Sehr abwechslungsreich. Eine Ganztagestour mit 100 Radkilometer.

We've walked this route from Mainz to Trier, in July 2020 in 7 days. It was warm (hot) and sunny, and we went through vineyards, forests, fields and small villages, just a nice variety of landscapes. It was also really quiet, almost no other hikers. Mainz is a really nice city to start from, and to end in beautiful Roman Trier is also great. I'd really recommend this route.
