Maps and trails
Seelen is picturesquely situated on a hill of the Palatinate Forest and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding valley. The village is known for its peace and serenity as well as for its friendly inhabitants. It is an ideal place to relax and unwind.

The main tourist attractions of Seelen are the historic 12th-century Falkenstein Castle and the nearby Pfälzerwald Nature Park with its numerous hiking and cycling trails. The adjacent wine-growing area also ensures that there are many wineries here where you can taste regional wines.

Cultural highlights include the annual medieval festival at Falkenstein Castle or also the various concerts in the summer months. Those who prefer a more leisurely pace should definitely make a detour to the local farmers' market - here you can find fresh fruit and vegetables straight from the field!

For gourmets, Seelen offers some culinary specialities such as "Saumagen", a hearty speciality made of pork stuffed with potatoes, or typical Palatinate dishes such as liver dumplings or bratwurst with sauerkraut.

For those who like to be active, Seelen offers numerous opportunities for outdoor activities. From hiking and cycling in the Palatinate Forest to climbing, fishing or canoeing on the nearby river - there is something for everyone here! It's especially nice in the summer months when the forests are green and you can cool off at one of the many lakes.

And what do you do in Seelen when the weather is bad? Don't worry, even then there is plenty to do: visit the local museum of local history, for example, or take a trip to the nearby city of Kaiserslautern with its numerous museums and galleries.

Total: Seelen in the Donnersbergkreis district is definitely worth a trip! Whether nature lover or culture enthusiast, gourmet or active holidaymaker - everyone will find something to their taste here.
