Discover the region

The town of Schlüchtern is located in the north-east of the federal state of Hesse and is surrounded by picturesque forests. The Spessart is known for its breathtaking natural scenery with numerous hiking and cycling opportunities. The region is perfect as a starting point for a discovery tour through the Spessart.

A highlight among the sights is the 17th century Ramholz Castle with its impressive baroque garden. A visit to the Bad Soden-Salmünster graduation works is also worthwhile: here you can take a deep breath and fill your lungs with brine air.

For culture enthusiasts, there is plenty to discover in Schlüchtern: The Steinhof Museum displays exhibits on regional history as well as art exhibitions by contemporary artists. In summer, there are also regular concerts on the market square.

The region also has much to offer in the way of culinary delights: Be sure to try the excellent apple wine or enjoy hearty specialities such as Handkäs' or Bratwurst from the grill.

You can be active outdoors here all year round - depending on the season, the region offers different activities. In summer, for example, you can cycle along the Main-Kinzig cycle path or take a canoe trip on the Kinzig. In winter, numerous trails tempt you to go cross-country skiing and skiing.

And what do you do in Schlüchtern when it rains? A visit to the indoor swimming pool "Kinzigsee" is a great experience for the whole family!

Schlüchtern, Spessart - where is it most beautiful? A difficult question, because every place has its very own charm! However, hikes through the Hessian Spessart Nature Park along the Sinn River with its picturesque mills as well as excursions to the surrounding castles are particularly recommended.

Overall, a stay in Schlüchtern is definitely worthwhile: the town offers everything your heart desires - from culture to culinary delights to sporting activities in the midst of a fantastic landscape.
