magnificent landscape views, exciting discoveries, unforgettable moments
The premium hiking route Spessartbogen meets all the demands of the leisure hiker for carefree walking, leading over eventful, well-marked natural paths and trails. In an entertaining way, it forms an approximately 90-kilometer arc to the Kinzigtal through the unique forest landscape of the Hessian Spessart.
Forest whispers, flower dance and feast for the eyes
Hiking on the Spessartbogen is for connoisseurs. Walking on earthy paths through quiet woods. Surprised by gnarled oak giants that praise the Spessart. Between the leaves, the blue of the sky flashes, sunbeams seek their way to the hikers. The hammering of the black woodpecker sounds clearly, and the cheerful song of forest birds resounds.
Unexpectedly, the forest opens again and again, letting the view wander over gentle hills, meadow paths cross green valleys, following lively crystal-clear streams—sometimes rushing, sometimes roaring. Following the trail of the beaver to idyllic ponds. Strolling along sunny forest edges and through flower-filled landscapes, over which the kite and buzzard circle high in the air. Until not far away, historically significant places lure for strolling.

Equipment
Section-wise, you walk on narrow, unpaved paths far from civilization. Suitable hiking clothing, sturdy footwear, and good fitness are absolutely necessary. You may also need to overcome small obstacles. If the beaver has been busy during the night hours, it might have placed a tree in your way that you have to climb over or bypass.Localization
