Geographically, Schlat lies on the edge of the Swabian Forest and is surrounded by a picturesque landscape. The municipality covers an area of 8.5 square kilometres and has around 2,500 inhabitants.

One of the best-known sights in Schlat is the St. Gallus Church, which was built in late Gothic style and impresses with its magnificent furnishings. The historic town hall and the local history museum are also worth a visit.

If you are looking for cultural highlights, you should definitely visit the annual arts and crafts market or take part in guided walks where you can learn a lot about the history of the village.

For culinary delights, traditional inns such as the "Zum Hirsch" restaurant serve regional specialities. Those who prefer sweet things should definitely try the famous "Schlater Kirschtorte" - a must for all those with a sweet tooth!

Outdoor lovers will also get their money's worth in Schlat: In summer, there are hiking trips through the Swabian Forest or you can explore the surroundings by bike. In winter, cross-country ski trails and ski resorts entice you to engage in sporting activities.

Even when the weather is bad, there are plenty of opportunities in Schlat to make good use of your time. The indoor swimming pool "Schlatter Bad" offers a welcome change and the local history museum also invites you to linger.

But the most beautiful time in Schlat is definitely in spring, when nature once again shows itself from its most beautiful side and everything blossoms and greens. But autumn also has its charm, when the leaves turn colourful and provide a picturesque backdrop.

All in all, Schlat is a great destination for anyone who is looking for peace and quiet but still wants to experience cultural highlights. Our Travel Guide recommends a visit!
