Maps and trails

Surrounded by an impressive landscape with mighty mountain panoramas, the market town of Scheidegg with Scheffau is one of the most beautiful and attractive destinations in southern Germany.

Meadows, forests, mountains, hills, streams, and waterfalls in deep gorges characterize Scheidegg and its surroundings. The wide view over the mountain peaks to the horizon creates space for inspiration. Often, Lake Constance can also be seen, inviting day trips. The fresh mountain air in the spa climate resort carries the premium-class designation. Active recreation and deceleration are therefore the top priorities in Scheidegg.

In summer, Scheidegg convinces its guests with a variety of recreational facilities such as the alpine outdoor pool, the skywalk allgäu, the Scheidegger waterfalls, and the reptile zoo, to name just a few. A large number of thematic hiking trails open up the varied and exciting landscape of the West Allgäu to hikers. The range of designated bike paths is also extensive, leading to Lake Constance and into the Bregenz Forest, appealing especially to sporty cyclists.

In winter, Scheidegg offers pure winter fun. Cross-country skiers, snowshoe hikers, and winter walkers can enjoy over 40 km of well-maintained trails and winter hiking paths. Families with small children especially appreciate the good sledding opportunities as well as the Luggi-Leitner lift for ski and snowboard beginners or returnees.

In Scheidegg, there is also good tourist infrastructure with family-run hotels, guesthouses, holiday apartments, and farms.

In 2011, Scheidegg was awarded the "Bavarian Innovation Prize in Tourism" for its unique offer for people with celiac disease (= gluten intolerance). Thus, Scheidegg with its healing climate is also the ideal place to enjoy oneself carefree and take a vacation from celiac disease.
