Geographically, Roes is located in the federal state of Hesse and is surrounded by picturesque forests and rolling hills. The town itself has a rich history and is known for its well-preserved half-timbered houses as well as the impressive Rothenstein Castle.

Touristically relevant are above all the town's sights. In addition to the castle, these include Glücksburg Castle and the historic town hall. During a walk through the old town, you can also admire numerous other historic buildings.

Cultural highlights can also be found in Roes: the town museum offers an insight into local history, while the theatre regularly presents performances of various genres. In summer, the popular music festival "Roes Live" also attracts national and international artists.

For culinary adventures, be sure to visit the weekly market, which offers regional products such as fresh fruit and vegetables as well as handmade delicacies. A visit to a typical Hessian inn is also a must - here you can try hearty dishes such as Handkäs' mit Musik or Ahle Wurscht.

Those who like to be active will get their money's worth in Roes: In the warmer months, hiking tours through the surrounding forests or cycling tours along the river Fulda are ideal. Water sports enthusiasts will get their money's worth on the nearby reservoir. There are also numerous opportunities in winter, such as skiing and cross-country skiing in the surrounding mountains.

And what to do when it rains? No problem - Roes also offers indoor activities such as the swimming pool or bowling alleys.

Where is it most beautiful in Roes? That's hard to say, as the town has so many beautiful corners! However, the castle park and the view from the tower of Rothenstein Castle over the town and the surrounding countryside are particularly recommendable.

Overall, Roes is definitely worth a trip - whether for those interested in culture, active holidaymakers or gourmets. This travel guide is designed to help you get the most out of your stay.
