Discover the region

The town of Rethem is located directly on the Aller River and is known for its historic old town with numerous 17th century half-timbered houses. A walk through the narrow streets will take you to the most important sights such as Rethem Castle or the St. Vitus Church. The local history museum also gives you an insight into the history of this charming town.

Soltau-Fallingbostel, on the other hand, is best known as an amusement park mecca - it is home to some of Germany's best theme parks, including Heide Park Resort or Serengeti Park Hodenhagen. But Soltau also has a lot to offer off the beaten track: For example, discover the Lüneburg Heath Wildlife Park with its native animals or take a bike tour through the idyllic landscape around the Wilseder Berg.

In addition to these tourism-related highlights, both towns have other cultural highlights to offer: In Rethem, for example, you can regularly attend concerts and theatre performances or admire art exhibitions; in Soltau, the popular cultural weekend "Kunst & Genuss" (Art & Pleasure) attracts visitors every year.

And what would a holiday be without culinary experiences? Be sure to try the regional specialities such as kale with spelt or the delicious Heide honey. In Rethem you will find cosy inns and cafés, in Soltau there are a variety of restaurants to suit every taste.

For outdoor enthusiasts, this region is a true paradise: In summer you can go hiking, cycling or canoeing here; in winter the Snow Dome Bispingen beckons you to go skiing and snowboarding. Trips to the surrounding nature parks - such as the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park or the Wildeshauser Geest Nature Park - are also particularly nice.

And what to do in bad weather? No problem! In Rethem, the indoor swimming pool "Allerwelle" invites you to visit the swimming pool; in Soltau, on the other hand, a detour to the Designer Outlet Center is a good idea.

All in all, Rethem (Aller), Soltau-Fallingbostel is definitely worth a trip - whether you are a family, a couple or travelling alone. Discover the many facets of this versatile region for yourself and let yourself be enchanted by its beauty!
