    Eine schöne, aussichtsreiche Rundtour mit einigen knackigen Anstiegen. Da die Strecke weitgehend ohne Schatten verläuft, sollte man sie nicht bei großer Hitze fahren.

    Ich bin eigentlich zufällig auf diese Tour gekommen. Unterwegs mit der Bahn von Türkismühle in Richtung Bad Kreuznach zum Appelbach Radweg musste ich in Kirn den Zug verlassen, da überfüllt mit Reisenden. So musste ich mir eine andere Radroute aussuchen und kam so auf die Idee von Kirn zum Glan zu radeln und da kam der Nahe-Glan Höhenradweg wie gerufen.     Als uns die Wettervorhersage zusagte, haben wir spontan diese Tour in 4 Etappen gemacht und die Unterkünfte in Blieskastel, am Ohmbachsee und in Ulmet kurzfristig gebucht. Das Auto haben wir in Bad Sobernheim geparkt und sind mit der Bahn bis Saarbrücken und weiter mit der Saarbahn bis Sarreguemines gefahren. Die Radstrecke hat uns sehr gut gefallen, sie ist auch mit "herkömmlichen" Rädern gut zu schaffen und lässt noch ausreichend Zeit für Zwischenstopps. Überwiegend führt sie auf eigenen Radwegen, tlw. auch auf wenig befahrenen Straßen durch einsame Natur und schöne Städtchen. Die durchgängige Ausschilderung ab Sarreguemines bis Staudernheim lässt keine Wünsche offen.

    Wir sind den Glan-Blies-Radweg von Altenglan bis Staudernheim mit Tourenrädern gefahren. Sehr gute Wegführung und -beschaffenheit, eine herrliche (besser liebliche) Landschaft, schöne Ortschaften (bspw. Lauterecken, Meisenheim, Odernheim) und viele andere Sehenswürdigkeiten kennzeichnen diesen Teil des Glan-Blies-Radwegs. Das ist Genussradeln! Coronabedingt gibt es leider im Moment keine Einkehrmöglichkeiten. Daher bleibt die Tour auch weiter auf unserer "möchte-ich noch-machen-Liste".

    Landschaftlich schöne Radtour, weitestgehend auf separaten Radwegen, die ich ähnlich dem ADFC bewerten würde, zur Routenführung habe ich neben der Ausschilderung eine App genutzt. Hinter Homburg geht es mehrere Kilometer über Wald/- und Kieswege, was diesen Teil für Kinder etwas beschwerlicher macht.     Was für eine großartige Landschaft! Bei dem ständigen Auf und Ab durch die Alte Welt bieten sich auf jeder Anhöhe neue Ausblicke in eine Region, die keinen Vergleich mit etablierten Urlaubszielen scheuen muss. Und ein besonderer Genuss ist es, dies auf dem Motorrad zu erleben. Dabei ist man selbst an einem schönen Sommer-Sonntag fast alleine unterwegs. Oft haben wir Motorradtouren schon als Stress empfunden, aber bei dem sanften Gleiten durch die Täler und über die exponierten Höhenzüge der Alten Welt entspannen wir - fast schon meditativ. Besondere Höhepunkte für uns Biker? Auf jeden Fall das Motorradmuseum in Otterbach, wo in einer ehemaligen Kirche auf zwei Ebenen Old- und Youngtimer präsentiert werden. Und dann die vielen Einkehrmöglichkeiten. Geheimtipp: Die Gartenwirtschaft auf dem Felsberger Hof mit ihrer Blütenpracht (leider nur sonntags im Sommer geöffnet). Aber nicht weitersagen!
