Prohn is located near Stralsund on the Baltic Sea coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The town is surrounded by a picturesque landscape of lakes, rivers and forests. A highlight for nature lovers are the Rügen Bridge or the Peene Valley nature reserve with its unique flora and fauna.

Touristically relevant are above all the historic buildings such as Prohn Castle or the St. Marien Church from the 13th century. The Alte Schule cultural centre also attracts visitors with regular events such as concerts or exhibitions.

The annual festivities such as the traditional Easter bonfire or the summer festival on the lakeside of the Barther Bodden also offer a special experience.

In terms of cuisine, Prohn also has a lot to offer: Be sure to try the regional fishing from the Bodden or enjoy hearty dishes made from game meat directly from the hunter.

There are numerous options for outdoor activities - whether hiking through the Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft National Park, cycling along the Baltic Sea beach or water sports on the Greifswalder Bodden. The best time of year for this is between May and September.

Even when the weather is bad, there is plenty to experience in Prohn: Visit the Stralsund Museum or relax in the wellness area of Hotel Schloss Prohn.

Prohn is a destination that is definitely worth a trip. Discover the picturesque landscape and immerse yourself in the history and culture of the region. This Travel Guide provides you with all the necessary information for an unforgettable stay!
