Osburg is located about 15 kilometres northeast of Trier on the edge of the Saar-Hunsrück Nature Park. The idyllic landscape with its rolling hills invites you to go hiking and offers a breathtaking view of the Moselle valley. Cyclists also get their money's worth here: there are many well-maintained cycle paths along the Moselle and Saar rivers.

The numerous historic buildings in Osburg, such as the 18th-century St. Matthias Church or the 17th-century Monaise Castle, are particularly worth seeing. Another highlight is the nearby Karthaus Monastery, which is now used as a cultural centre.

Cultural highlights can also be found in the city of Trier itself - located only a few kilometres away from Osburg - where, among other things, you can visit the famous Porta Nigra or stroll through the picturesque alleys of the old town.

But it is not only culture enthusiasts who will find what they are looking for here: Those who like to sample culinary delights should definitely stop by a winery and taste the famous Moselle wine.

Even if the weather is bad, there are plenty of activities in Osburg to pass the time. How about a visit to the Cascade leisure pool, for example, or a tour of the nearby Fell mine?

Whoever is looking for the most beautiful place in Osburg should definitely make a detour to Ramstein Castle. From here you have a breathtaking view over the entire valley and can see all the way over to the city of Trier.

Overall, Osburg is a destination that is definitely worth a trip - whether for culture enthusiasts, nature lovers or pleasure seekers. This travel guide provides all the important information about this charming region of Germany!

Wunschkonzert in Riveris.
