Geographically, Offenberg is characterised by a gently rolling landscape surrounded by meadows and fields. The Danube flows only a few kilometres away and invites you to go boating or cycling along the river. Those who enjoy hiking will find numerous routes through the picturesque forest.

The community also has a lot to offer culturally: Visit Offenberg Castle with its impressive Renaissance style or the 16th century St. Laurentius Church with its baroque furnishings.

A highlight for all gourmets are the culinary specialities of the region such as liver dumpling soup or pork knuckle - be sure to try these delicacies!

For outdoor enthusiasts there are many opportunities to get active - from hiking and cycling to skiing in winter on the nearby slopes of the Arber. Fishing is also possible at one of the many lakes in the area.

If it should rain, you can head to the indoor swimming pool or take a look at the museum - here you can learn all about the history of the region as well as its traditions and customs.

It is especially beautiful in Offenberg during spring and summer time, when the flowers are in bloom and you can sit outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. But also in autumn the area shows its most beautiful side when the leaves turn colourful and the forests offer a colourful spectacle.

Overall Offenberg is definitely worth a trip and offers something for everyone. We hope this Travel Guide will help you make the most of your stay in the region!

This gravel tour was a great adventure for us. We started the tour in Passau following the Donau to Regensburg. This gave us two days to to get us a little into it. It broke the part of the Donau into two, we ended the tour in 8 days in Passau. Instead of following the GPX we sometimes followed the indications of the official cycling tours to stay away from busy traffic.

Pausenempfehlung: Landgasthof Hacker in Zachenberg Bahnhofstraße 7.
