This route mostly follows the Danube bike path (DRW), EuroVelo E6 and D6, and is fairly safe in traffic because it runs away from major roads. From Metten-Schöpfwerk, we walk to Mariaposching and on to Pfeiling. There we stay by the Danube and cross the ST2125 at the military training area and ascend the Bogenberg at the Ulrich Chapel. Via the pilgrimage church and the Kreuzweg, we come to the town center of Bogen.

Navigation on this route is very easy. On the one hand, the path is well marked, on the other hand, it doesn't offer many alternatives.
At the pumping station, we cross the heavily trafficked St 2125 and take the bike/pedestrian path upstream. Now we walk the next 19.5 km along the river. At times, you can choose between the asphalted bike path, the paved dam, or the towpath. After Pfelling, you have to walk about 500 m along the ST2155, but after the wooded hill, you can continue along the Danube again. (The bike path continues on the road.) You go through a meadow and field path under the Xaver-Hafner Bridge and see from afar the pilgrimage church Maria Himmelfahrt on the Bogenberg. We come to the military training area, turn right, and cross the Deggendorferstraße ST 2125. A trail takes us first to the Ulrich Chapel and then via the Ludwigsweg to the pilgrimage church St. Maria Himmelfahrt on the Bogenberg. Via the rather steep Kreuzweg, we descend to the town square. (Alternatively, there is also a bypass.)
