Discover the region

The geographical location of Obermoschel offers a unique backdrop of rolling hills and green meadows framed by the majestic peaks of the Palatinate Forest. The town itself lies at the foot of a mountain and is crossed by the river Alsenz. A special feature are the numerous castles and ruins from the Middle Ages, including Bosselstein Castle or Moschellandsburg Castle.

Cultural highlights are provided by various museums such as the local history museum or the museum of village culture, as well as regular events such as the wine festival in summer or the traditional Christmas market at Advent time.

Culinary Obermoschel also has a lot to offer: Be sure to try the regional wine or enjoy local specialities such as Saumagen (a type of stuffed pork stomach) or Spundekäs (a spicy cheese dip).

Outdoor activities can be enjoyed here at any time of the year - whether hiking on one of the numerous trails around the town, cycling along the river valleys or skiing in winter on the slopes of the nearby Donnersberg.

Even when the weather is bad, there are plenty of options: For example, discover the cave worlds near Bad Münster am Stein or visit the indoor swimming pool in Rockenhausen.

Where is the most beautiful place in Obermoschel, Donnersbergkreis? That depends entirely on your interests - whether you are looking for the peace and seclusion of nature or prefer to explore historical sights.
