Most relevant for tourism are the Gross Schwansee castle estate and the nearby Ratzeburg lake area. The castle estate impresses with its magnificent gardens and historic buildings from the 18th century, while Ratzeburger See offers numerous water sports opportunities such as sailing or canoeing.

Cultural highlights include, in particular, the regular concerts at Gut Sierhagen as well as various art exhibitions in neighbouring Neustadt-Glewe.
