For those who enjoy hiking or cycling, there are numerous routes through the nature park with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The "Klosterweg" hiking trail and the "Via Claudia Augusta" cycle path, which runs directly through Mönchsdeggingen, are particularly recommended.

But Mönchsdeggingen also has a lot to offer in terms of culture. The 18th century Marienburg Monastery is an impressive example of baroque architecture and today houses a museum on the history of the town as well as a gallery with contemporary art.

Another highlight for culture lovers is the annual "Klangraum" music festival. Renowned musicians from all over the world perform here and provide unforgettable concert experiences in an idyllic setting.

Mönchsdeggingen also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine: The regional cuisine is characterised by hearty dishes such as pork knuckle or spaetzle with lentils - perfect after a long day of hiking!

If the weather doesn't cooperate, a visit to the indoor swimming pool or the local gym is worthwhile. A trip to the nearby city of Augsburg is also a good idea, to visit the famous Fuggerhaus or the cathedral.

But it is especially beautiful in spring and summer, when the nature around Mönchsdeggingen is in full bloom and you can enjoy a cool drink on one of the numerous terraces and let your eyes wander over the valley.

Mönchsdeggingen is definitely worth a visit - whether as a starting point for hikes through the nature park or as a cultural highlight with the annual "Klangraum" music festival. This charming little town has something to offer for everyone and will certainly be remembered for a long time.

An Sehenswürdigkeiten besteht kein Mangel. Ein wirklich traumhaft schönes Erlebnis, dieser Trail. Absolut zu empfehlen.
