Lüder

Cultural highlights can be found especially in summer: The music festival "Hitzacker Summer" attracts numerous visitors every year. Those who like theatre should definitely visit the open-air theatre or attend a concert on the historic market square.

But culinary connoisseurs don't miss out here either: the regional cuisine is characterised by hearty dishes such as kale with pinkel or labskaus. In the cosy pubs you can try these delicacies and enjoy a fresh beer to go with them.

For outdoor activities, hikes through nature are a great option - they are especially beautiful in spring when the heather plants are in bloom or in autumn when the deciduous trees change colour. In winter you can go ice skating on the lake or cross-country skiing.

If it rains, we recommend a visit to the Hundertwasser railway station or the Heidemuseum in Wilsede. Here you can learn a lot about the history and culture of the region.

Where is the most beautiful? That's hard to say, because every place has its own charm. But especially recommended are hikes on the Lüneburg Heath Paths and a ride on the historic steam train through the countryside.
