6-day through heath and Göhrde
The tour is one-way; return transport must be organized for the return journey.
We drive the car and trailer in advance to our destination, including luggage for a one-week holiday in the holiday apartment.
There is a regional train station 2 km from the hotel, from where you can travel home via Lüneburg.
The first day is for getting used to and checking the
location of the luggage.

The first day with us is for getting used to and checking the
location of the luggage and meeting friends.
For riding after, the starting point must be moved or the 1st stage is 7 km longer.
Start in Wolthausen at the parking lot for the canoe landing at the Örtzebrücke. Friends bring us to the starting point.
Ample, foil is available for the lunch pack and there is also a sweet treat
Day 5: 34 km
I join forces with 2 other trail riders who have the same destination.
The first and only riders we met on the way.
My husband fetches the car and drives the remaining stations with Carlos in the trailer
Lunch: from the pack bag at a location with grass for the horses
You should ride over the high Mechtin.
If you want, you can tie up the horses there and take a break in a shelter with tables and benches. For the indestructible, there is also quite a high observation tower that you can climb for the view.
Warm welcome with apple cake from the own garden, the horses are on a pasture that is actually still green and juicy
Dinner is sociable and very delicious.
Breakfast is again very good. We could pack a lunch, but our next tour is so short that we forego it.
Accommodation: Lüben - Lüben 1
Day 6: 9 km
Carlos is driven again, I ride part of the route with the comrades from the day before, then the last 2 km alone
Lunch and accommodation: Hitzacker - Wietzeze - Pferde Schulze
Here our car and trailer should be ready, but due to Carlos's lameness my husband already picked up the team 2 days ago.
From now on it is holiday and riding from one accommodation:
We have a holiday cottage in the country hotel Hitzacker at "Pferdeschulze", the horses are on the pasture
Conclusion: The ride is worth it, the detour to Saxony-Anhalt provides a varied landscape
Our horses are only shod in front and tolerated the ride well, however it is borderline; complete hoof protection is therefore recommended.
The route represents only a variant that we rode; at some points there are certainly alternative paths in the forest that are even more beautiful.
The route often runs along the long-distance footpath E6 from Dahrendorf; it is partly gravelled, but you can usually ride forward on the side or middle strips.
Once you get into the Göhrde there are plenty of paths and clearings, which are mostly not marked on maps. Other paths are missing even though they are marked. You have to improvise a bit to catch the wonderful grass and forest paths and not end up on the gravel paths for forest management.
