Geographically, Leun lies on the edge of the Westerwald and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The town itself has a long history and was already mentioned in the 8th century. Today, it is known for its historic buildings as well as its idyllic location on the Lahn.

Sights relevant to tourism include Braunfels Castle with its impressive Renaissance style, the medieval Greifenstein Castle and the ruins of Waldmannshausen Castle from the 13th century. Culture enthusiasts should not miss a visit to the Museum Wetzlar, where you can see a variety of interesting exhibitions.

During your stay there are also numerous events to attend such as the town festival or the annual wine festival in Braunfels - a must for wine lovers! Culinary highlights here are above all regional specialities such as apple wine or Handkäs with music.

For outdoor activities, hiking or cycling along the picturesque river courses is particularly suitable - especially beautiful in autumn when everything glows golden! Water sports enthusiasts also get their money's worth: canoeing on the Lahn is a popular pastime in warm weather.

If it should rain, we recommend a visit to the indoor swimming pool "Aquarena", where you can relax and swim a few laps. Alternatively, a visit to a cosy café or restaurant offers a welcome change.

In summary, Leun, Lahn-Dill-Kreis is definitely worth a visit - with its picturesque landscape, historic buildings and numerous activities for young and old. Discover the best of this charming town on your next visit!
