Geographical location and special features: Hohberg lies at the foot of the Black Forest and is surrounded by picturesque forests and vineyards. The municipality consists of four districts - Hofweier, Niederschopfheim, Diersburg and Niederwasser - each with its own charm and unique attractions.

Tourist attractions: One of the main attractions of Hohberg is Schloss Staufenberg in Durbach. The impressive castle was built in the 13th century and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding area. Another highlight is the Black Forest Central/North Nature Park, where you can go on beautiful hikes.

Cultural highlights and events: In Hohberg there are many cultural events such as concerts, theatre performances or exhibitions held throughout the year. One of the most famous events is the wine festival in Hofweier in summer as well as the traditional harvest festival in autumn.

Culinary specialities: The region around Hohberg is famous for its exquisite wines as well as regional specialities such as the "Black Forest Ham" or the "Flammkuchen". There are also many cosy local restaurants where you can enjoy these delicacies.

Outdoor activities: For outdoor lovers, there are many options in Hohberg, such as hiking, cycling and horseback riding. A hike on the Schwarzwaldsteig trail or a bike ride through the vineyards is particularly recommended in summer.

Best seasons: The best time to visit Hohberg is from May to October. During these months the temperatures are mild and the weather sunny.

When it rains: Even if it does rain, there are still plenty of activities to do. For example, you can take a trip to nearby Strasbourg or visit a museum.

Where is the most beautiful? There are many beautiful places in Hohberg such as the Staufenberg Castle Garden or the Black Forest Central/North Nature Park. But the place with the best view of the surroundings is undoubtedly the "Himmelsleiter" lookout tower in Diersburg.

In summary, Hohberg in Germany's Ortenau district offers its visitors a wealth of sights as well as cultural highlights and culinary delights. The region is perfect for outdoor activities during the summer as well as for leisurely walks through picturesque landscapes in autumn. A stay here is definitely worth a trip!
