Eckfeld lies on the edge of the Volcanic Eifel Nature Park, which means it is surrounded by stunning scenery. The area is known for its geological wonders such as the Eckfelder Maar crater lake and the Meerfelder Maar, both of which were formed over 40,000 years ago.

A highlight of this region is also the many castles and palaces, such as Schloss Lieser or Burg Landshut. These historic buildings not only offer an insight into the past, but also spectacular views of the surrounding area.

For cultural highlights, we recommend a visit to Machern Monastery or the impressive baroque Weilerbach Castle with its magnificent gardens. The Moselle Museum in Bernkastel-Kues is also well worth a visit: Here you can learn everything about the history and culture of the Moselle region.

Culinary this area has a lot to offer - be sure to try the famous wine from the region! In almost every village you will find cosy Straußwirtschaften (wine taverns) or Winzerstuben (winegrowers' taverns) where you can enjoy local specialities - including, of course, a good piece of meat from the grill!

Outdoor activities are more than plentiful here: hiking through picturesque valleys and rolling hills, cycling on well-developed cycle paths or canoeing on the Moselle. In winter, you can even go skiing and cross-country skiing in the nearby ski areas.

But what if it rains? No problem! Visit the mineral and fossil museum in Manderscheid or relax in the Vulkaneifel Therme thermal baths - everyone will find something for themselves here!

Where is the most beautiful? That's hard to say, because the landscape around Eckfeld offers so many different facets: from green forests and rolling hills to steep vineyards on the Moselle. A drive along the picturesque panoramic road "Moselhöhen" will certainly give you unforgettable views.

Our travel guide gives you all the information you need for a successful stay in Eckfeld and the surrounding area - from sights to cultural highlights to culinary delights and outdoor activities. We wish you a wonderful time in this idyllic part of Germany!
