Geographically, Echem is located on the south-eastern edge of Lüneburg. The town is located in the federal state of Lower Saxony and is known for its picturesque landscape with rolling hills and green forests. It offers its visitors a perfect setting for outdoor activities such as hiking or cycling.

One of the tourist highlights in Echem is Bleckede Castle, which dates back to the 14th century. Today, the impressive building houses a museum about the history of the region as well as various art exhibitions. Another highlight are the historic half-timbered houses on Lüneburg's market square - they offer the perfect place to stroll and discover this charming town.

Cultural highlights are also plentiful - visit the theatre on the Ilmenau or enjoy classical music at the concerts of Lüneburg's symphony orchestra. When it comes to culinary offerings, Echem has some interesting options: Be sure to try local specialities such as asparagus or Heidschnucken dishes!

If it rains, you can still keep yourself busy: Spend an afternoon at the German Salt Museum, for example, or visit one of the many cinemas in town.

The best seasons for outdoor activities are spring and summer, when the countryside is in full bloom. The Ilmenau cycle path is a must for all cyclists - it leads through breathtaking forests and offers spectacular views of the river.

And where is the most beautiful? It's hard to say, as Echem has so many beautiful places! But the Stintmarkt in the centre of Lüneburg with its half-timbered houses and cosy cafés is certainly worth a visit.

Whether you love history, culture or nature - Echem has something for everyone. Come by and discover this charming destination in Germany for yourself!
