Geographically, Denkte is located near the Harz Mountains and is surrounded by picturesque forests. The town itself lies on the river Oker and offers a relaxed atmosphere for visitors.

One of the most famous sights in Wolfenbüttel is Wolfenbüttel Castle, an impressive Baroque palace with a fascinating history. Today it houses, among other things, the Herzog August Library, one of the oldest libraries in Europe with over 900,000 books and manuscripts.

Another highlight is the old town of Wolfenbüttel with its well-preserved half-timbered houses from the 16th century and numerous restaurants and cafés to linger in.

Cultural highlights also include the Lessing Theatre or the museum in Blankenburg Castle - perfect for rainy days!

For those who like to be active outdoors, you can explore the Elm-Lappwald nature park or cycle along the Oker cycle path - especially nice in spring or summertime!

Culinary specialities are also available: Be sure to try "kale" (known regionally as brown cabbage), a typical dish of the region served during the autumn & winter months.

Summarising, this region has a lot to offer - be it cultural, outdoor or culinary experiences. A destination that is definitely worth a trip!
