Geographically, Calw is located in the heart of the Northern Black Forest and thus offers the perfect starting point for exploring the surrounding area. The region is characterised by dense forests, picturesque valleys and idyllic rivers. The numerous historic half-timbered houses also lend this area a very special charm.

Calw itself, however, also has a lot to offer. For example, you can follow in the footsteps of Hermann Hesse - the famous writer was born here and lived in the town for a time. The Hermann Hesse Museum provides an insight into his life and work.

The old town with its narrow streets and market square also invites you to take a stroll. Here you will find many small shops as well as cosy cafés and restaurants offering regional specialities.

Another highlight are the numerous events such as the annual town festival or the Christmas market spectacle in winter.

For outdoor lovers, hiking or cycling is the best way to enjoy nature - along the Nagold river or on one of the many well-marked hiking trails through the forest. In winter, the nearby skiing area at Kniebis also beckons.

And what do you do in Calw when it rains? No problem - even in bad weather there is plenty to experience here. For example, visit the town museum or the Alte Kelter, where wine tastings and cultural events take place.

Overall, Calw is definitely worth a visit. Whether as a day trip or for a longer stay - this town in the Northern Black Forest has something to offer for everyone!
