Discover the region

Geographically, Berglen is located on the edge of the Swabian Alb. The landscape is characterised by rolling hills, wooded areas and picturesque fields. A highlight is the view of the nearby Ebnisee reservoir from the highest point of the municipality.

Touristically relevant are above all the numerous historical sights such as Waldenstein Castle or the Kallenberg ruins. A visit to the local history museum is also worthwhile for those interested in culture.

In terms of events, Berglen has a lot to offer: The annual summer festival attracts visitors with culinary delicacies and a colourful entertainment programme. In winter, there is a traditional Christmas market where you can buy regional handicrafts.

Culinary delights in Berglen include typical Swabian dishes such as Maultaschen or Spätzle mit Soß'. The regional fruit brandies from local production are also a special highlight.

Outdoor activities are very popular here - hiking through the beautiful nature around the Ebnisee is definitely one of them! Cycling or a canoe trip on the Fils river are also popular. In the winter months, skiing is also a great option on the nearby slopes.

If it rains, you can visit the leisure pool in Berglen, for example, or find out about the history of the village in the local history museum. A visit to the nearby town of Schorndorf is also a good idea.

Where is the most beautiful? That's hard to say - every place has its own charm! But hikes around the Ebnisee and excursions to the historical sights such as Waldenstein Castle are certainly particularly recommendable.

All in all, a trip to Berglen is definitely worthwhile - whether for a day trip or a longer stay. This travel guide gives you all the information and tips you need for an unforgettable time in this idyllic village in the Rems-Murr district.
