Geographically, Amtsberg is located on a plateau surrounded by rolling hills. The region is criss-crossed by dense forests and offers impressive panoramic views of the Ore Mountains. Visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities here, such as hiking, cycling or skiing - depending on the season.

There are many tourist attractions: an absolute highlight is the Dittersdorf Castle Park with its Baroque castle from the 18th century as well as the adjacent zoo. The historic church "St. Marien" from the 15th century is also worth a visit - it is one of the oldest architectural monuments in the region.

Cultural highlights can be found above all in the numerous museums and galleries in the area: The Museum of Saxon Vehicles, for example, displays a collection of historic automobiles from Saxony as well as motorbikes, bicycles and other means of transport from bygone times.

But Amtsberg also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine: Traditional dishes such as Thuringian dumplings or Eierschecke are served here - definitely try them! The numerous regional wines and beers are also highly recommended.

And what to do if it rains? Then a visit to the "Erdmannshöhle" adventure world is a good idea. This stalactite cave is one of the most beautiful in Saxony and delights with its breathtaking formations as well as an underground lake.

All in all, Amtsberg is definitely worth a trip for all those who appreciate nature, culture and culinary delights in equal measure. Whether in summer or winter - there is always something to discover here!
