Altendorf lies in the middle of a picturesque landscape with rolling hills and green forests. It is a quiet place away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. The town has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages.

Altendorf's most famous landmark is the 16th century Altendorf Castle. Today, the castle houses a museum that gives an insight into the history of the region. Another interesting sight are the remains of an old Roman settlement on the outskirts of the town.

For culture enthusiasts, there are numerous events such as concerts or theatre performances in Altendorf's summer theatre or on the market square during the wine festival in September.

Culinary Altendorf has a lot to offer - be sure to try the famous apple wine from this region! Other local specialities such as potato pancakes or asparagus dishes are also not to be missed.

If you like to be active, you can go hiking or cycling here and enjoy breathtaking views - it is especially beautiful in spring when everything is in bloom or in the golden autumn when the leaves turn colourful. In winter you can even go cross-country skiing or ice skating.

Even if it rains, there is plenty to do in Altendorf - for example, visit the local history museum with its interesting exhibitions or take a walk through the city park and admire nature in rainy weather.

Altendorf is definitely worth a trip. The city offers a perfect destination for those seeking peace and quiet as well as appealing to culture and nature lovers alike. We hope this Travel Guide helps you make the most of your time here!
