Ahrensburg is located just 20 kilometres north-east of Hamburg and is known for its picturesque location on the edge of the Lauenburg Lakes Nature Park. The town has a long history and is particularly famous for its castle - an impressive Renaissance building from the 16th century with a fascinating collection of historical furniture.

The area around Ahrensburg also offers numerous outdoor activities such as hiking or cycling along the many lakes and rivers in the surrounding area. The autumn months are particularly beautiful, when the leaves turn colourful and the air is fresh.

But Ahrensburg also has a lot to offer culturally: The Marstall cultural centre regularly presents concerts, theatre performances and art exhibitions by regional artists. Another highlight is the annual town festival in summer with music acts on several stages as well as culinary delights from all over the world.

For those who like good food, the cosy restaurants around the market square are the place to be - here you can enjoy regional specialities or try international cuisine.

And if it does rain? Don't worry! In Ahrensburg you will find many interesting museums such as the local history museum or the Stormarn Museum of Archaeology - perfect for a cultural excursion.

Overall, Ahrensburg is definitely worth a trip, whether you are an outdoor enthusiast or just want to enjoy the peace and beauty of nature. With this travel guide, you have all the information you need to make the most of your time here.
