We start our tour at the S-Bahn station in Reinbek, an independent town in the east of Hamburg, and follow Sophienstraß to the right. Tip: On the opposite side of the railway tracks we find Reinbek Castle (1), a Renaissance building from the 16th century. A left turn leads us uphill into the housing estate, where we keep right at the T-junction into the forest and turn left at the first opportunity. We cycle straight ahead along several intersecting paths, arrive again in a housing estate and in a bend to Wohltorfer Straß. Here we first turn right and then left before the right-hand bend and follow the road out of the village. We continue along the country road, between the ponds and at the T-crossing in a left-right combination to the houses of Schönningstedt, today the oldest district of Reinbek. We leave the houses on our left, cross the Kreisstrasse on the bridge and turn right at the second opportunity. We pass the sports field, turn left behind the roundabout and then immediately right again and keep left at the roundabout. At the big traffic lights turn right onto the Möllner Landstraß and after the right-hand bend turn left into Mühlenweg. Cycle slightly uphill past the Kupfermühlenweg, where the Glinder Mühle (2) with museum and Mühlenteich is located. At the end of the road, turn right and follow the large yellow sign for the cycle path over the A24. The signs are a good guide for the rest of the tour. Continue straight ahead on the former railway line to the large traffic light junction, which we cross diagonally and then reach Stellau on the asphalt path, which is still perfectly constructed. Here we stay on the cycle path, cross the Stellauer Bach stream and glide effortlessly between picturesque fields to the community of Langelohe, which belongs to Brunsbek. Passing Papendorf, we soon cross a country road, ride through a shady avenue and at the end of the cycle path we meet a district road that leads us in a westerly direction to Siek. Now we follow the second turning on the right into the town, turn right again behind the Friedenskirche (3) and turn left at the fork in the road behind the town sign. Continue along a priority road, after 500 m turn left onto a narrow asphalt path and then in a left-hand bend along the motorway bridge on your right. We turn right at the second intersection of the housing estate and enter a forest. On the dirt road, keep right at the T-junction, cycle slightly uphill and turn left onto Holsdorfer Landstrasse. Follow this road through Großhansdorf, changing its name several times, into the Trittau state forest and turn right before the Manhagen pond. The Ostring then takes us to Ahrensburg, where we turn left at the second junction and pass Ahrensburg Castle (4). Continue straight on and cross the B75 to reach Ahrensburg railway station, the final destination of the tour. We return by train to Hamburg main station and then by S-Bahn to Reinbek.
