    Diese Route und alle Ortschaften sind mir sehr gut bekannt. Da ich am Rhein wohne habe ich hier gewissermaßen ein Heimspiel. Das Nordelsaß und die Südpfalz sind ein Erlebnis für Naturliebhaber. Wer Fachwerkhäuser liebt sollte die Orte Hoffen, Hunspach und Seebach besuchen. Auch Schweigen mit dem Dt. Weintor ist einen Besuch wert. Ebenso das Dornröschendorf Dörrenbach mit Rathaus und Wehrkirche. Oh es gibt noch so vieles in der Ecke.... wer nicht dort war hat was verpasst....

    Diese Radtour hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Abwechslungsreich und vie durch den Wald am Flüsschen entlang. Höhepunkte sind natürlich der sehenswerte Ort Wissembourg und das Deutsche Weintor. Einige (kurze) Streckenabschnitte sind aktuell sehr matschig. Eine durchgängige Beschilderung gibt es nicht.

    Für mich ein etwas enttäuschender Abschluss des Waldpfades. Für diesen letzten Abschnitt hatte ich ein Jahr lang versucht, um Erlenbach eine Übernachtungsmöglichkeit zu finden. Leider vergebens. Damit musste eine eigene Anreise und eine Abfahrt aus Schweigen organisiert werden. Aus LU/DÜW kommend, mit Öffis keine Chance, will man nicht morgens mit der ersten Bahn um 5 losfahren. Also zwei Fahrzeuge, eines Am Ziel geparkt und mit dem Anderen an den Start. (ca. 20 min Fahrt, geht also). Am Berwartstein wurden einige straßenbauliche Änderungen seit der Beschreibung vorgenommen. Feldwege sind inzwischen geteerte Straßen. Tatsächlich sind auf der ganzen Strecke noch drei Bänke für eine Rast, die daher allerdings alle besetzt waren. Daran werden wir uns wohl gewöhnen müssen. (Danke an die Dödel, die auch im Wald einen Schuldigen suchen wenn sie über ihre eigenen Füße fallen.) An der Strecke gibt es eine Einkehrmöglichkeit, ich hatte Tags zuvor angerufen, aber sie liegt an einer beliebten Ausflugsstraße, da war unvorhergesehen ziemlich voll. Manche Gäste warteten angelich 90 min. (Wir hatten Glück) Aber ein Tag im Wald entspannt und man sieht so etwas gelassener. Die letzten Kilometer sind dann auf freiem Feld, bzw. Wingert. Sonnenschutz ist da angeraten. Als Abschluss des Waldpfades steht man dann in Schweigen am Weintor und sieht Busse, Touristen und Verkehr. Am liebsten wäre ich einfach umgedreht. Für die Zukunft eine Anregung: Die Wegeplanung beruht auf reiner Wegezeit. Klar, Essen muss jeder selbst einplanen. Aber will man sich auch mal eine Burg ansehen, oder eine Aussicht läd zum verweilen ein, wird der Tag schnell zu kurz. Vor allem während der Winterzeit. Eine etwas dynamischere Übernachtungsplanung wäre da angebracht. Das jedenfalls nehme ich mir für die Zukunft vor,

    Tolle abwechslungsreiche Genießertour. Moderate Anstiege. Oft auf Asphalt und meist kaum befahrenen Nebenwege. Wege gut zu finden. Viele kleine Orte mit Einkehrmöglichkeit. Tipp ist Gimbelhof mit Blick auf Burg Fleckenstein. Abstecher zum Baumwipfelpfad oberhalb Drachenbronn gemacht. Auto kann gut bei WoMo Stellplatz zwischen Rott und Cleebourg abgestellt werden (An der Winzerrei Cave … Cleebourg. Weinprobe möglich 😉) Am 2.5. mit EMTB gemacht. Keine fahrtechnischen Ansprüche. Reine abwechselungsreiche Genießertour. Zumindest mit EMTB.
