Azahar Coast

The Costa del Azahar is located in the south of Catalonia on the Gulf of Valencia. Its fine, white sandy beaches stretch from the Costa Daurada in the north over 200 kilometres to the Costa Blanca in the south and invites to extensive walks along the Balearic Sea. The orange blossom coast owes its name to the countless citrus orchards that radiate their fine fragrance everywhere. The mighty ruins from Roman times in Sagunt, the gorge in Sierra de Mariola and the port of Vinaros make the Costa del Azahar a popular holiday destination.

Begin gaat over makkelijke paden (steil) omhoog.

Many thanks to you Antonio. We had a great 3:30 hour ride. Allow 4 hours with panorama breaks. Indeed, after KM 3, the climb up to KM 12 is not a joke. Constant 8 to 10%. But the path is stony but very smooth. The only moderate difficulty is located after the village of Serra, at the end between km 27 and 29 where you will have to take a track that could be classified as technically moderate. This could be avoided by folowing the Camino de Portillos 3 or 400m before Coll Blanc which is next to the track. The difficulty is not very high and you can easily pass walking while pushing the bike. No shame in staying safe. First rule: Don’t get hurt !!! ;)

Great walk with plenty to see & a good variety of trails. The waterfalls are nice and the vegetation is lush in November and all the fruits trees Laden with fruit. Some easy slight scrambles.
