The hike through the Serra d'Irta Natural Park is especially surprising in spring with its blooming ground plants - like a colorful mosaic, against the backdrop of the turquoise sea and the silhouette of Peñíscola.

Gently hilly terrain, whose botanical resilience and lack of shade should not be underestimated. The route runs entirely in the sun. Therefore, it is recommended to start the hike in the morning during the summer months.

From Puerto Azul, the path follows the clay-red trail and then a stony dirt track to the whitewashed Ermita de Sant Antoni. Then you climb the highest point of the hike - La Bota - before descending again to Castillo de Pulpis. After that, you go part of the way uphill again back towards Vistahermosa. From there, a wide, wonderful panoramic view opens up, with the turquoise sea in the background and a beautiful view of Peñíscola. Then the path winds down again to sea level. The stony path at the bottom of a small gorge requires particular surefootedness here. The last meters run directly along the coast before you reach the starting point again.
