The pleasant trail running route or hiking path leads from the valley station of the Predigtstuhlbahn up to the Schroffen. Then it goes quite quickly up a forest path to the Bürgermeisterhöhe with a great rock overlooking Karlstein and the Thumsee. Afterwards, it goes down along a forest road by the Saalach reservoir and back to the starting point.

Starting from the Jochberg parking lot near Weißbach, head toward Staufenstube up to Kohleralm. From there, continue to Gamsknogel, the first summit of the route. Along the mountain ridge, walk over to Zwiesel, the second summit. Just below is already the third summit, Zennokopf. After great views, the path leads down first to Zwieselalm. Refreshed (with coffee and soda water), walk along a narrow path to Bartlmahd where the descent to Padinger Alm begins. Once there, it's an easy run out to Bad Reichenhall.
