Trail runs in Raggal

In brief: steep up and steep down, this is how the Breithorn presents itself. You should be sure-footed, but exposed sections are secured with steel cables.

A hike with plenty of sunshine and not much forest (so it was on the warm side). Beautiful views of the surrounding mountain giants.

Very steep ascent up to the Mason-Alpe, then somewhat gentler up to the Freiburger Hütte (which you reach after about 2.5 hours). From there it continues with a great view of the red wall to over the black Furka. Then you cross the long high valley of the Alpe Faludriga (nature reserve), until it goes back up to the Gamsfreiheit. From there a gravel path leads down into a pine forest, where the path becomes more pleasant again. Then follows a nicely winding single trail up to the Elsspitze. From there the Elsweg leads down to Bludenz, first very steep over gravelly steps, then rooty winding through the forest.
