One of the most beautiful and well-secured via ferratas. Impressive in terms of landscape and easily accessible by cable car.
From the mountain station of the Alpspitzbahn at Osterfelderkopf, an alpine climbing area of the highest class opens up. Even for non-climbers, there are a few "delicacies" offered here. Foremost is the Alpspitz Ferrata, which is excellently developed with its footholds and steel cables. The ascent via the via ferrata to the breathtaking view at the summit cross of probably the most distinctive peak of the Wetterstein mountains is highly recommended both for via ferrata lovers and beginners with appropriate equipment.

Roadbook
From the mountain station of the Alpspitzbahn at 2,050 m, you walk past the mountain rescue hut to the base of the northern face of the mighty Alpspitze. From there, follow the sign "Ferrata" to the entry of the via ferrata. From here, the path is clearly marked by the alpine red marking and the iron fixtures. The via ferrata, equipped with iron ladders and footholds, leads you directly to the Alpspitz summit (2,628 m). After a well-deserved break at the summit cross, begin the descent via the Nordwandsteig, (alpine marking: red dots) until you return to the foot of the Alpspitze northern face back to the Osterfelderkopf (signposted).
Variants: Another ascent or descent option exists via the Grießkarscharte (2,460 m), which you can reach either via the Höllentalanger hut in the Höllental and over the Matthaisenkar (via ferrata) or from the Stuibensee over the Grießkar.
