This barrier-free city walk takes you through the history of Oberstein from its founding in the Middle Ages to modern times and shows the development of the market town into the world-famous jewelry and gemstone city. The route starts at the marketplace in the Oberstein district in front of the Tourist-Information EdelSteinLand below the Felsenkirche. Visitors have year-round access to the gemstone trail, as it is continuously asphalted. The 16 installed information boards invite visitors to engage intensively with the jewelry and gemstone city. Along the way, there are shopping opportunities as well as various sights such as the Felsenkirche, the German Mineral Museum, or the gemstone experience world. A visit is worthwhile in any case!

The barrier-free city walk starts in front of the Tourist-Info EdelSteinLand at the marketplace of Idar-Oberstein below the Felsenkirche. From there, you take a round around the German Mineral Museum until you return to the marketplace. From here, follow the pedestrian zone upwards until you reach the square "Auf der Idar," where station 11 is located. From this point, continue left towards the railway station. Once there, follow the street to the left, straight ahead, until station 14 at "Wasenstraße." After this information board, cross the bridge into "Austraße," where the last two stations await you.
