The Baroque Trail winds through Ettenheim’s historic old town with about 24 stops, bringing to life the eventful history of the former episcopal residence. Magnificent Baroque buildings, picturesque half-timbered houses, historic squares, and notable landmarks such as the Palais Rohan, St. Bartholomew’s Parish Church, and City Hall tell the story of the era of the Prince-Bishops of Strasbourg and the exile of Cardinal Louis René Édouard de Rohan. Along the way, visitors will also encounter historic fountains, gates, former administrative buildings, and lovingly preserved examples of urban life. The loop trail combines culture, history, and architecture into a varied stroll through one of the most beautiful Baroque towns in southern Baden.
