An easy trail run for beginners around the Schönberg. The route mainly runs on wide, well-maintained hiking trails and gravel roads.
The starting point is directly at the Jöraboda bus stop in front of the Malbun Center. After a short climb, the hiking path turns left. Follow the signpost towards Sassförkle. On reaching Sassförkle, turn left after the ridge onto the path to Alp Guschg. Upon reaching the alp, follow the gravel road for a few hundred meters until after a short climb the hiking path branches off to the left. This beautiful singletrail takes you to Güschglehötta, from where you continue following the slightly descending gravel road. Staying on the road, you pass Hinter-, Mittler-, and Vordervalorsch before leaving the gravel road once more and following the hiking path over the meadow to Steg. After a short stretch of asphalt, you cross the access road and the stream, from where the hiking path climbs steeply towards Malbun. Mostly on the narrow path and at the end again on a short stretch of gravel road, you reach the starting point again in front of the Malbun Center.
Author’s recommendation
Warm up well before the trail run, or start slowly, as the route climbs about 200 meters in elevation right from the start. Also plan to have enough energy reserves for the final climb back to Malbun. More about the author Michael Lenz https://swisstrailguide.com

Safety information
The path and gravel road are well developed and not exposed. You pass cow pastures with mother cows. Keep your distance and slow down to walking pace when passing the mother cows. Do not leave the paths, as part of the route lies in a wildlife protection zone.
To undertake a route, careful planning is needed. We recommend that you first exchange information with local information points concerning the trails and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route can be closed or interrupted.
