Trailrunning - Running in nature is definitely different from running on the road. It is lively and 100% authentic and feels good. The Palatinate Forest offers numerous small paths and large trails; there are uphill and downhill sections, and you usually pass points with great views.
This Orensfels Trail leads from Frankweiler to the Ringelsberghütte and further to the Orensfels. It continues via the Landauer Hütte back to Frankweiler. The huts are open on weekends.

Safety information
Especially in autumn, it should be noted that fallen leaves on the ground can hide unevenness, roots, stones, or holes in the path. You must expect such path impairments when hiking. If you believe certain path sections are impassable, you should avoid them. Especially during adverse weather conditions, natural paths can have muddy and slippery sections.Tips and suggestions

Roadbook
From the Frankweiler hiking parking lot, we first follow the hiking trail "white dot" towards Albersweiler / St. Johann. Approximately at the level of the parking lot in St. Johann (which is not passed!), we turn right onto a small, unmarked path. This crosses two larger paths, but we always stay on the path uphill towards the Ringelsberghütte.
From the Ringelsberghütte, we follow the blue-white stripe and finally reach the Orensberg via the Kirschbaumhütte. Here we meet the Pfälzer Weinsteig, which we follow to the left towards the Orensfels. Be sure to enjoy the view here; it is an experience especially early in the morning. The Weinsteig then leads us further around the Orensberg, past the take-off site for paragliders and the Landauer Hütte back to the Kirschbaumhütte.
At the shelter, we then turn left. Please take the first path; this way we reach the Marktweg, which we follow towards Frankweiler. Shortly before the village, we leave the Marktweg and switch once again to a small path that leads us along the edge of the village back to our starting point, the hiking parking lot in Frankweiler.
