This trail is varied with sections in forest, on the alpine pasture, on the ridge and a start/finish point in the heart of the pretty hamlet of Vichères.

The Bavon alpine cheese is highly appreciated!

    Our ambassador Jules-Henri Gabioud's opinion:
"A beautiful route between ridge and forest with this route of about 17 km. Here, the Bavon ridge will be the highlight of your day. This route is also recommended in autumn when the colors add even more charm to your day."

From the Liddes tourist office, go down to the hamlet of Dranse then join the hamlet of Vichères. Continue north and cross the main road. Take the path climbing through the forest to reach Plan Bœufs. Turn left and follow the direction of Bavon. Climb along this fairly steep path and exit the forest at a small plateau at Plan Monay. Descend a few meters and continue the climb on the path to the right of the ski lift.

Continue on the ridge to reach the summit of the second ski lift and the Téjère where there is a signpost. Turn left then descend to the alpine pasture of Bavon and take the path under the road entering the forest. Head somewhat towards the Combe de l’A then return to the road and then the path to reach again Vichères, Dranse and climb back to Liddes.
