Brief and intense route on the faces of the Catogne
Author’s recommendation
Our ambassador Jules-Henri Gabioud's opinion:
"A shorter route from the Sembrancher side suitable for an evening outing with the difficult but short climb to the Pas de la Face taken via the Droit du Catogne. The return to Sembrancher via La Garde is rather short and quick."
Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.

From the center of the village of Sembrancher, reach the station by crossing the village. Then continue in the same direction leaving the football pitch on the right to take the bridge over the railway tracks. Take the dirt road running alongside the tracks to a junction, then follow the direction of the Droit du Catogne by taking the road on the left. Climb along this steep path to reach the Pas de la Face where there is a lookout.
Reach the road just after passing the Pas de la Face and take the path on the left that allows you to descend to La Garde. Cross the village and descend a small paved road before returning towards Sembrancher via a dirt road and a smaller forest path under the St-Jean Chapel.
