Starting from the square of Stenico, it is possible to visit this valley by following an old mule track until reaching the Sarca River at the entrance of the Forra della Scaletta.
Along the route, you can see the old ruins of the numerous mills and factories that once dotted this valley, as well as modern plants for the production of electricity that are still operational. In fact, with the advent of electricity, the direct use of the water’s driving force was progressively abandoned in favor of the construction of the hydroelectric power station owned by the Stenico Industrial Consortium, an important cooperative of the Outer Giudicarie founded in 1905.
