Tourist-Information Landsberg am Lech
At a scale of 1:1.7 billion, each step corresponds to about a million kilometers in space. On your walk, you will pass the planets of our solar system – from the sun-proximate Mercury to distant Neptune – and thus experience the incredible distances of our cosmic home up close. After about an hour of walking, you will reach Neptune, having symbolically traversed our solar system at four times the speed of light.
Along the way, benches and information boards invite you to marvel, linger, and discover – ideal for families, school classes, and anyone who wants to experience astronomy in a vivid way.

Your hike now follows the Lech northward. Even before reaching the Mutterturm, you will encounter the first planets. At each station, you will find an information board with a brief overview of a planet's characteristics and its position in the solar system. Additionally, a model illustrates its size at a scale of 1:240 million. Just before the sewage treatment plant, the Planet Trail turns left and takes you through Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus to the last station of the Landsberg Planet Trail – the planet Neptune at the Forest Cemetery.
