Paradise hike - circular route to the Forggensee -

The circular route begins at the end of August-Geier-Straße (parking lots)

From here, walk past the parish church to the village center by the village fountain and continue the route towards Federal Road 16.

Use the pedestrian underpass on the B16 on the left and continue to the Sentenberg fork. There, turn left onto the upper Sentenberg path (or the alternative path halfway up).

Choose the east path from Sentenberg and continue to the end. On this section of the path, you can already enjoy beautiful panoramic views. At the end of the path, turn right onto the paved road towards Osterreinen. At the crossroads, go straight to the parking lot at Dürracker. (Follow the Forggensee shore path sign). Along the entire length of the lakeside path to Café Maria and beyond, you get impressive picture-book panoramic views of the lake, the mountain range, and the castles. A children's playground, bathing spots, and the pier for the Forggensee boat service are along the route. After the boat pier, an information board explains the Forggensee, a reservoir lake. At Café Maria, there is an opportunity to stop for food, cake, and snacks. Before the natural swimming beach, the path turns right back to Rieden.

Alternatively, you can extend the hike at Café Maria by taking the 2nd turnoff at the natural pool to the right and continuing the hike towards St. Urban. At the fork, keep left and choose the Blaik elevation. There you will find information boards about the original landscape of the Lech and the formation of the Forggensee. From there, continue back to Federal Road 16. At the B16, use the hiking/cycling path to the right. Go straight for a short distance and at the valley signpost turn right and hike the return path to Rieden.
